In 2010, over 40 faith leaders gathered for an emergency Interfaith Summit at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to affirm a statement of solidarity with our Muslim neighbors facing unprecedented anti-Muslim bigotry in the United States. As we mark the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign, we reaffirm our original statement of solidarity that we made on that day, and we renew our commitment to building a country where all individuals and communities, no matter their faith or background, are treated fairly and with dignity.
In 2020, faith communities renewed their steadfast stance against fear-mongering and hate, re-committing to work together to build an America that values and respects people and communities of all faiths and backgrounds.

Our Founding Press Conference as covered by C-Span
Christian, Jewish, Muslim and other religious leaders spoke to reporters and answered questions about attitudes toward Muslims in the U.S. They also talked about the country’s reaction to a proposed Islamic Cultural Center in Manhattan. At the start of this event, a joint declaration was released outlining religious leaders' concerns about interfaith relations and anti-Muslim bigotry in the U.S.
